WarGroundz ("we", "us", or "our") operates the browser-based real-time strategy game WarGroundz: Rising Storm at wargroundz.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Username — your chosen display name
• Password — stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plaintext
• Game statistics — wins, losses, kills, buildings destroyed, techs researched, game duration
• Session tokens — JWT authentication tokens stored in your browser's localStorage

When you play as a guest, we only store your chosen guest name in your browser's localStorage. No server-side account is created.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, session duration, and approximate geographic region. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using browser privacy extensions or Do Not Track signals.

How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate your account and maintain sessions

Data Storage

Account data is stored in a SQLite database on our server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. JWT tokens are signed with a server-side secret key. We do not store payment information — the game is free to play.

We use browser localStorage to store your authentication token, display name, game settings, and campaign progress. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies as part of its standard operation.

The game is rated for teens and up. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has registered an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention

Account data is retained indefinitely unless you request deletion. Guest data is stored only in your browser and is cleared when you clear browser data.
